How licensing works
Each server created in the Sky panel has its own server identity and license. The FiveM resource validates against the Sky backend before protected features become active.
Typical validation flow
FiveM server starts Sky
→ Sky reads sky_license.lua
→ Sky validates the key and server instance
→ Plan and server access are checked
→ Resource becomes active
→ Panel sync begins
Server moves or IP changes
If a license is intentionally bound to an IP or server instance, use the panel's reset/rotation tools before or during a server migration. Do not share one server license between unrelated installations.
Common license errors
| Message | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Invalid license | The key or instance does not match | Download a fresh license from the correct server |
| Plan inactive | The owning account has no active access | Check the plan/billing state |
| Server limit exceeded | The account is using more servers than its plan allows | Remove/deactivate the extra server or change plan |
| IP/instance mismatch | The resource moved to another host or installation | Use the owner/admin reset or rotate action |
